Wednesday will be a warmer day across the region as some intervals of sunshine return. Highs in the piedmont will warm into the upper 70s and lower 80s under a partly sunny sky.
The remnant low pressure of Irma is located over Tennessee and Kentucky today, and a couple of disturbances are pinwheeling around that low pressure. One of those disturbances will move into the Carolinas late today, so I anticipate a few afternoon and evening showers.
One final piece of energy will ripple through the region Thursday, so once again, I expect a few late day showers to develop.
Friday and the weekend looks warm and dry with piedmont highs in the 80s and mountains highs in the 70s.
Tropics
Jose continues to make a loop in the western Atlantic, east of the Bahamas. Jose will likely wind up between the Outer Banks and Bermuda this weekend. Most of the more reliable computer models keep Jose offshore, but a few models tuck the system in fairly close to the coast. We will watch it.
