BURLINGTON, N.C. -- A security guard was caught in the crossfire during a shooting early Sunday morning outside a Burlington nightclub in the 2300 block of Corporation Parkway.     

Burlington police say 43-year-old Eric Wooden was working security at Club Enve when a fight in the parking lot led to the shooting.

When officers arrived around 2:15 a.m., they found Wooden and 25-year-old Emmanuel Slade both shot in the hip outside the club.

Witnesses told officers Slade fought with another man before the shooting.

Police say Slade and Wooden’s injuries appeared to be non-life threatening. They were taken to Duke Hospital.
