As each day goes by, it's looking more likely that we will take a direct hit from Florence. It's also looking likely that it will be a very dangerous Catagory 4 storm at landfall later Thursday. With winds as high as 140 mph, the impacts from Florence could be catastrophic for all areas on or near the coast. Expect significant storm surge flooding north of the center, wind damage to most structures with weaker buildings destroyed plus power outages that could last for weeks. The storm is expected to move inland then stall for a few days. This could lead to a very serious issue with inland flooding on top of a wind and tornado threat. Unfortunately, it's still too soon to pinpoint specific locations that will get hit the hardest. We will know a lot more in the next couple days. Do your final preps. as soon as possible and be ready to obey evacuation orders. Stay safe everyone!
