It’s been in the making for more than a decade and it's called 'Zing Zumm Children's Museum' located on New Bridge Street in downtown Jacksonville.

It will have about a dozen hands-on play areas including a grocery store, a bank, a restaurant, and a drama center.

The museum co-owners say it's been a long process, but they're looking forward to providing families with some fun closer to home.

"What we want children to do is to learn but to not realize their learning and to have fun while they're doing it," said Liz Owens, co-owner of Zing Zumm Children's Museum

The children's museum is expected to be open by late August.

It will cost $9 to enjoy the activities.
