WILMINGTON, N.C. -- Police in Wilmington are trying to figure out why a woman was shot after leaving a downtown bar early Sunday morning.

  • Shaquilla Gresham was shot on Market Street.
  • Police say she had pulled over and gotten out of her car when she was shot.
  • So far, no one is in custody.

At last report, police said 25-year-old Shaquilla Gresham was in critical condition after being shot in the 300 block of Market Street near North Fourth Street at about 2:30 a.m.           

According to police, Gresham was driving away from the bar when she pulled off the road, got out of the car and was shot.

There's no word on any suspects.
