WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH, N.C. -- Several people are recovering after a boat crash near the Figure 8 Island bridge.

It happened Sunday afternoon.

The Coast Guard says between four and six people were sent to the hospital.

They say a problem with the boat caused it to continue going in circles, eventually throwing all the passengers off.

NC Wildlife Resources is handling the investigation into what went wrong.
