WILMINGTON, N.C. -- If you’re planning on flying anytime soon, be prepared for some delays at the Wilmington International Airport.

New TSA security checks are going into effect Saturday, with agents asking travelers to remove any electronics larger than a cell phone from their carry-on bags and place them in a bin with nothing on top or below them. That includes iPad’s, e-readers, and other tablets. Passengers we spoke with said even though it could slow down the screen process, they don’t mind the changes.

"Anything that helps protect citizens and helps protect families and all that is just a win across the board. I know it takes a little bit of extra time, especially flying with kids it can be more of a hassle. But to keep in mind that it's for our safety is what we try to do,” said Shelby Miller.

TSA is also asking folks to arrange bags in a way that is organized and uncluttered. These changes have already rolled out at other airports around the state.
