CARTERET COUNTY-- Carteret County may have had a couple inches of snow this week but, as of Friday afternoon, almost all of it is gone.

Drivers say a few patches of ice were visible in shady areas along Country Club Road and Highway 24 but mostly out of the way within the medians.

With temperatures reaching the 50s, just about all of it melted away by the afternoon, making driving conditions much safer.

Carteret County Emergency Services says driver should still use caution on the roadways and watch out for any lingering ice in shady areas.
