WILMINGTON -- The Port City has another new taproom, but this one offers a unique, non-alcoholic beverage. Panacea Brewing Company brews and sells kombucha, a fermented probiotic tea.

Kombucha has been around for thousands of years, but the drink is finding new popularity with health enthusiasts. The owners, Artie and Robin Hill, say the bubbly drink has lots of B vitamins and healthy amino acids.

They say it's exciting to introduce more people to the tasty, health-conscious beverage.

"It's fun. It's interesting because a lot of people usually they'll take a sip of it and they'll be like 'oh that's actually really good' or if they've had other kombucha that maybe, you know, isn't local-- it just tastes different when it sits on a shelf for awhile," says Artie Hill.

They're also selling their product in other locations across New Hanover County, like Tidal Creek Co-op, Dixie Grill and Good Hops Brewery.
