If you like fall weather with cool mornings and mild afternoons, you should love the forecast for the next several days!

Cooler and drier air is moving into North Carolina behind a cold front that passed through the state Monday.  That will give eastern North Carolina a mostly sunny Tuesday with highs in the upper 60s.

Once the sun sets Tuesday evening, temperatures will drop quickly.  Many locations should wake up to the mid 40s around sunrise Wednesday.

Wilmington measured 0.26" of rain Monday with the cold front that moved through.  That should be the only rain we see this week.  Dry weather is now forecast through the upcoming weekend.

A gradual warming trend is likely for the second half of this week.  Highs will return to near 80 by Friday and the weekend.

The next chance for rain will come with the next front that should arrive early next week around Monday or Tuesday.
