WILMINGTON - The city of Wilmington is promoting economic development through cultural arts. Council members recently approved $167,000 in funding to six organizations. Two of those are UNCW’s Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship and the Cucalorus Film Connect event. The funds will bring together business development and the film community, promoting growth. The city says they are also working to keep young talent in the community by providing recent college graduates with jobs.

“We love that they came here for school and we want to keep them here in Wilmington as young professionals,” said Malissa Talbert with the City of Wilmington.

This year's Cucalorus Film Festival will run from 11/10/15-11/14/15.
