DURHAM, N.C. -- Durham Police are looking for answers after a deadly hit and run last month.

  • 61-year-old Andre Houze was hit by a car near the corner of Cornwallis and Roxboro Roads on November 13
  • Police are looking for a gold or brown Honda Accord with peeling paint and a North Carolina license plate that begins with "HM."
  • Houze's family is planning for his funeral, which is on Thursday.

61-year-old Andre Houze was hit by a car near the corner of Cornwallis and Roxboro Roads on November 13. He died in the hospital two weeks later.

"Would that person want somebody to do that to them?" said Jennie Jones, Houze's sister. "I don't think so. It's unhuman. That's a monster."

Durham Police have not identified a suspect, but they are searching for a specific car. They're looking for a gold or brown Honda Accord with peeling paint and a North Carolina license plate that begins with "HM."

"With what they did to him, he deserves justice," said Franklin Harrington, Houze's brother-in-law. "Nobody deserves to leave like that."

Houze's family is planning for his funeral, which is on Thursday. In the meantime, they say the person who killed Houze should turn themselves in to police.

"I pray for that soul...to be such a mean person," said Jones. "How could they live knowing what they did and not come forth?"

Anyone with information should call Durham Crimestoppers at (919) 683-1200.
