CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The Women for Mark Harris bus tour stopped in Charlotte on Monday with a very special guest on board.
- Second Lady Karen Pence spoke in Charlotte Monday
- She is speaking in support of 9th District Congressional candidate Mark Harris
- Harris's wife, Beth, also spoke on her husband's behalf
The wife of Vice President Mike Pence, Karen Pence, spoke in support of the 9th District congressional candidate.
The congressional race between Republican Mark Harris and Democrat Dan McCready is a hotly-contested race covering the district running from southeastern Mecklenburg County all the way over to Fayetteville.
Monday's rally was filled with congressional wives, business leaders from the area, and faith leaders. They talked about Harris’s position on the economy, religious freedom, and family values.
Harris’s wife, Beth, spoke on her husband's behalf.
The second lady also spoke about the importance of voting in midterm elections. Pence encouraged women to take a friend to the polls.
The Women for Mark Harris Bus Tour will be making stops across North Carolina throughout the week.
