As each day goes by, it looks more likely that the Carolina's will take a direct hit from Florence by later Thursday. It also looks like that hit will be a very hard hit as a Catagory 4 hurricane with winds maybe as high as 140 mph. A hurricane that strong will bring catastrophic impacts to all of the Carolina coastline including storm surge flooding and erosion, significant wind damage including destruction of weaker structures and power outages that could last for weeks. Florence will weaken as it moves inland but it's expected to stall. If that happens, we could see major issues with inland flooding. Unfortunately, it's still just too soon to be able to pinpoint how severe our impacts will be here. We will know a lot more over the next couple days. Play it safe and prepare now!
