WAKE COUNTY, N.C. -- Saturday was a learning experience for several fourth graders, who got to tour the Wake County Animal Center.

- The students said spending time in the Animal Center has stirred up emotions
- Had the chance to see areas of the center normally off limits to the public

The students said spending time in the Animal Center has stirred up emotions.
"It makes me sad because there are all these animals and people aren't doing anything to protect them but here they are getting a vaccine and a home," stated one of the students.
This visit was organized by the "Kids 4 Critters" program and the Wake County Animal Center.
