THOMASVILLE, N.C. -- A bank robbery out of Salisbury is being linked to a chase in Davidson County.

  • First National Bank on East Innes was robbed
  • Suspects lead officers on chase that ended in Thomasville
  • One of the suspects inside the car stabbed an employee while trying to enter the "Hobby Shop"

Police say the First National Bank on East Innes Street was robbed Thursday afternoon.

The suspects ended up leading Salisbury Police on a chase to Thomasville.

There, the robbers ended up at the Hobby Shop on Mendenhall Street with blown out tires.

The brothers who own the shop worked to prevent the suspects from entering the business.

Outside, 42-year-old Wesley Anderson tried to stop the suspects from getting out of the car, where he was stabbed in the chest.

"If it wasn't for my son, he would have gotten in the store and had all the employees, as well as customers, as hostages," states Anderson's father. "My son is really a hero."

Officers attempted to use tasers on the suspect but were unsuccessful. Still in possession of the knife, the suspect was eventually shot by police.

Anderson has been taken to the hospital. His father states that he is alert and conscious.
