CRAMERTON, N.C. -- Severe weather Tuesday night produced a tornado in Gaston County.
Just after 9 p.m., law officers confirmed a twister touched down in the eastern part of the county. Chief meterologist Jeff Crum reported the storm moved at about 15 mph. At this point, there are no reports of damage in the area.
Storm tips:
- If you lose power anytime during a storm, Duke Energy customers can call 1-800-PowerOn
- For Energy United customers in the Huntersville and Statesville area, call 1-800-E-United
- Stay away from downed or sagging power lines and do not touch anything that is on or near a power line
- Report any downed lines to police and Duke Energy.
