CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Tropical moisture holds court across our region through early Friday morning. Heavy rain possible with cells tonight and Wednesday.

  • The mountains and foothills will remain under the gun for rapid development of flash flooding and flooding
  • If you live in a flood prone area, please stay very AWARE of water levels
  • The tropical moisture will depart early Friday

The mountains and foothills will remain under the gun for rapid development of flash flooding and flooding; landslides are possible given the saturated soil of the last few weeks. Gusty winds could cause trees to fall given how wet the soil is West of the Charlotte zone.

If you live in a flood prone area, and you have flooded during the last two weeks, please stay very AWARE of water levels in your area.  Have an evacuation plan should you need to evacuate.

The tropical moisture will depart early Friday with a shift in the winds and some slight drier air taking hold for the weekend.
