NORTH CAROLINA -- Spectrum News, in association with SurveyUSA, has conducted an exclusive survey of 526 registered voters in North Carolina to probe their opinions on topics such as the 2018 November elections and approval ratings for President Donald Trump and Gov. Roy Cooper. The results of this survey are detailed below:
UNITED STATES:
1. In general, are things in the United States headed in the right direction?
According to the survey, a majority of North Carolinians do not believe things in the United States are headed in the right direction.
- Right Direction: 40 percent
- Wrong Direction: 53 percent
- Not Sure: 7 percent
United States House of Representatives
2. If the November election for United States House of Representatives were held today, which candidate would you vote for?
The survey indicates that more North Carolinians would vote for the Democratic candidate than the Republican candidate. No option gained a majority (over 50 percent).
- Republican Candidate: 41 percent
- Democratic Candidate: 44 percent
- Another Party's Candidate: 3 percent
- Undecided: 12 percent
President Donald Trump
3. Do you approve or disapprove of the job President Trump is doing?
The survey finds that half of North Carolinians surveyed disapprove of the job President Trump is doing.
- Approve: 43 percent
- Disapprove: 50 percent
- Not Sure: 7 percent
This indicates that both President Trump's approval and disapproval ratings are up. In a poll previously conducted by Spectrum News and SurveyUSA in October 2017, Trump scored a 37 percent approval rating, with 49 percent disapproval, and 14 percent not sure.
4. Do you trust President Trump to make the right decision when it comes to foreign policy?
The survey finds that more people do not trust President Trump to make the right decision on foreign policy than do. No option obtained a majority.

The survey finds that, by a 1 percent margin, more North Carolinians think sexual affairs between President Trump and other women are of serious public concern.
