- In and around Charlotte, there are nearly 170 Asia-based companies
Nearly 170 Asia-based companies employ more than 9,000 people in and around the Queen City.
Wells Fargo senior economist Mark Vitner says removing the risk of a conflict between North and South Korea will likely increase investment in surrounding countries.
“I think more investment would flow into the area and the volume of global trade with Asia, outside of China, in the U.S. and other nations would increase tremendously," said Vitner.
With low wages and available labor, other business leaders see North Korea as a potential manufacturing partner for companies.
President Donald Trump is considering the site for a potential meeting with North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un.
