CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- One of the biggest congressional primary races is the 9th District Republican race, a rematch between incumbent Congressman Robert Pittenger and challenger Mark Harris

In 2016, Pittenger defeated Harris by just a few more than 130 votes. Another challenger, Clarence Goins of Fayetteville, is in the race against both Pittenger and Harris.

All three participated in the only debate of the primary season, on Spectrum News.

The debate was hosted by Capital Tonight host Tim Boyum on Wednesday, April 25 .

The candidates discussed a wide variety of issues including government spending, what it means to be a Republican and the impact of recent trade deals on local farmers.

The debate will re-air on Sunday, April 29 at 10 a.m. on Spectrum News.
