FORT BRAGG -- Families were reunited at Fort Bragg Tuesday after more than 7 months apart while their loved ones were serving in Afghanistan.

About 250 Paratroopers from the First Combat Brigade were welcomed back with kisses, hugs, and lots of love.

"My heart just dropped," said SPC Jonathan Mahathey. "It was so amazing to see her. She was standing up, holding a sign, and shouting for me. It was adorable."

"It's the greatest feeling coming home and giving them hugs and kisses after not being able to the last nine months," said SSG Russell Hinnenkamp.

Fort Bragg officials say at least six more flights full of 82nd Airborne Division Paratroopers are also returning home to Fort Bragg next week.
