CHARLOTTE -- During her first 90 days in office, Mayor Vi Lyles made several trips to Raleigh and Washington, D.C. trying to reach out and build a relationship with state and federal leaders.
Mayor Lyles says some of her major priorities are economic mobility, safe neighborhood and affordable housing.
Lyles says a committee is working on possible solutions for the housing crisis.
“Where we can look at those naturally affordable units and maintain thos. We're also talking about acquiring schools and surplus properties,” she says.
Mayor Lyles plans to have another quarterly action report on June 4.
