RALEIGH -- The latest Facebook challenge is honoring the memory of a Wilmington girl who died from a rare form of leukemia.

Sadie Hulsey was just 17 months old when she was diagnosed with juvenile myelomonocytic leukemia.

Sadie underwent two unsuccessful bone marrow transplants, numerous oral and IV chemotherapy and countless other harsh medicines and procedures. However, her family says she always wore a smile and a tiara.

Sadly, Sadie died a week before her sixth birthday.

The “Childhood Cancer Christmas Tree Challenge” is raising awareness and money for childhood cancer research through Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation.

Challengers are asked to help honor Sadie's memory by doing the following:

Step 1: Recreate the above photo -- one person must nap on the floor (like Sadie's sister in the photo) and one person must “Diva” pose

Step 2: Post your photo to the Childhood Cancer Christmas Tree Challenge Facebook page, using #PedsCancerChallenge and tag people you wish to nominate.

Step 3: Donate and share the Challenge.
