CHARLOTTE -- The Charlotte Independence soccer team is doing well on the field, winning their last six games but they're just as focused off the field on the topic of sexual assault and rape culture

The team is working with an organization called "Rethink" which aims to educate young men about respect and consent.

Players say it starts with them.

"A lot of people put the onus on this locker room talk and I can tell you our locker room doesn't talk like that,” said player Bilal Duckett.

The players may get involved in helping to teach classes in the future.

The current goal is set at $5,000.
