WORCESTER, Mass. - Worcester wants to become an age friendly city.
The cityās Age Friendly Initiative is a group of community stakeholders working to make Worcester a vibrant, livable place for everyone, regardless of age or ability.
Their goals range from increasing access to housing, improving social inclusion and community engagement.
āSo, age-friendly means looking at every aspect of living in a community,ā Worcester Senior Center director Amy Vogel Waters said. āIt means making it a welcoming place for all folks, whether they speak English or not, whatever their economic situation is.ā
The city also received an AARP age-friendly designation, which comes with opportunities for additional funding for community projects, economic advancement, and opportunities to expand on current accessibility efforts.
