WORCESTER, Mass. - Quinsigamond Community College announces a partnership to support the dental hygiene of Worcester's senior population.
Quinsigamond Community College’s (QCC) dental hygiene clinic is teaming up with the Central Massachusetts Agency on Aging.
Dr. Moses Dixon, CMAA's president and CEO, says a lack of accessible and affordable dental care is a burden on seniors.
Money is currently in place to fund the program for three years. Students in the QCC Dental hygiene program will provide dental care.
“I truly believe that this new partnership between Quinsigamond Community College and CMAA will be a model for the nation on how to provide affordable, accessible dental care for our older adults,” Dr. Dixon said.
Sheryl Ficorilli, clinic manager of QCC’s dental clinic, said, "We are able to fill that gap by offering comprehensive assessments, cleanings, x-rays, fluoride treatments and other services."
Dr. Dixon also announced a partnership with the Yellow Cab Company of Worcester to help provide transportation to and from the dental clinic.
