This morning at WPI a conference to help promote data science field to women was held. The Women In Data Science Conference celebrated women in the data science field. A variety of academic and professional speakers at today's conference discussed the need to bring more women into science careers.

Dr. Jean King WPI Dean of Arts and Science, "Data science is one of the areas in computer science that women are actually drawn to and we need to have women in the room."

Dr. Elke Rundensteiner of the WPI Data Science Program, "To get them to get excited and interested in this field because I believe they're not even aware of this opportunity they don't even know what are all the things that can achieve if only they knew these capabilities."

The conference's keynote speaker was Dr. Nancy Baym of Microsoft Research New England.
