NATIONWIDE -- A 110-year-old lobster saved from the dinner table has died.
The Maine State Aquarium says Larry the lobster was laid on a bed of ice, wrapped in a saltwater-soaked towel, and shipped to Maine.
Once there, the aquarium was supposed to decide if he would be released to the wild or put on exhibit, but Larry didn't survive the trip to the aquarium.
The 15-pound lobster made national headlines when four Florida businessmen banded together to keep him off the dinner menu.
They gathered funds to buy Larry and relocate him to Maine.
It's not clear what killed the crustacean.
