A news crew that was covering a tragic story in Henderson late Wednesday night caught a surprise on video. An observant viewer noticed a meteor quickly appeared in the footage that aired Thursday morning on Time Warner Cable News.
Meteors can be very difficult to catch on camera. This one just happened to appear while recording video for a completely unrelated news story.
This meteor was part of the Orionid meteor shower that peaked before sunrise Thursday morning. The Orionid meteor shower is the result of debris from Halley's comet.
Weather permitting, the next visible meteor shower will be the Leonids which will peak during the early morning hours of November 18.
