SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio is the most affordable Texas city to buy a home in, according to WalletHub.

WalletHub examined 10 key metrics across 300 U.S. cities to find the most affordable places to buy a home.

San Antonio was ranked 163 out of the 300 cities, Dallas was 218, Houston was 190 and Austin was ranked 224.

The data covers home costs, upkeep, tax rates and vacancy rates.

San Antonio was ranked No. 40 out of the larger cities in the data set.

Zillow’s April 2025 data shows the average San Antonio home cost $257,632, a 3.1% year-over-year decrease.
