TEXAS — In the wake of this week's winter storm, some customers in Texas are being asked to conserve or boil their water.

New Braunfels Utilities issued a boil water notice Thursday morning asking its customers in the Riverchase Pressure Zone to boil their water before consuming it. This includes drinking, washing hands/face and brushing teeth.

To ensure all bacteria and microbes in the water are destroyed before using, bring the water to a rolling boil and boil for two minutes. Instead of boiling water, customers may also purchase bottled water or some other suitable source of water for consumption purposes.

Travis County Water District 10 has asked customers to conserve water beginning Wednesday, Feb. 1, due to a power outage at McConnell Pump Station. The water district includes the City of West Lake Hills, and major subdivisions of Westwood, Rolling Hills West, Knollwood, Westlake Highlands, Sundown Parkway, Camelot and the original Rob Roy Ranch.

Some residents of Crossroads Utility Services are also experiencing a water outage due to a power outage at Wakefield Pump Station. They are encouraged to conserve water as well at this time.
