TEXAS — H-E-B has issued a recall voluntarily for Creamy Creations Light Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream due to an unlisted allergen. The ice cream flavor contains wheat, a known allergen that wasn’t displayed on the product label.

If consumed by people with the allergy or those who have high sensitivity to wheat, they may face severe or life-threatening reactions.

The product is sold at all H-E-B stores in Texas and Mexico and in Mi Tienda stores in Texas as well. The problem was detected when H-E-B’s Creamy Creations Light Cookies and Cream Ice Cream was identified in some of the cartons labeled as Creamy Creations Light Mint Chocolate Chip. The former flavor contains wheat as an ingredient. All affected products have been removed from shelves. Customers are able to request a full refund if they bring their product back to their H-E-B.

There have been no reported illnesses to date.
