Originally a Houston native, Lakisha Lemons joined Spectrum News in June of 2019, working as an associate producer in her first year in a fast-paced newsroom before crossing over into her role as a multimedia journalist.

Lemons’ work is inspired by the community. She aims to tell stories that matter, make an impact and give a voice to those who are often silenced. She has covered historic and catastrophic events throughout the state of Texas such as Hurricane Harvey, the mass shooting at Santa Fe High School, and the Houston Astros winning the World Series.

Not only is Lemons an accomplished journalist, she’s also an award-winning filmmaker who uses her passion for storytelling to highlight social issues in a creative manner.
