What You Need To Know

  • Much colder air is moving into the Lone Star State

  • A wintry mix for parts of North Texas will end Friday evening

  • A hard freeze is expected Saturday morning across all of North and parts of Central and West Texas

A strong north wind is expected to continue overnight for most of the state. Gusts between 30 to 40 mph are expected. This has prompted a Wind Advisory for most from North to South Texas.

Be prepared tonight because very cold temperatures will arrive behind this front! The latest forecast shows a hard freeze across all of North Texas, including parts of Central and West Texas.

Feel like temperatures for most, even the Coast, will be in the 20s by Saturday morning. So bundle up if you're heading out early!

Gardeners should plan to take extra steps to protect any newly planted vegetation from the hard freeze. This is the time to make a plan for the rest of the month.
