After a frigid morning with many areas at or below freezing, sunny skies and south winds will help moderate temperatures Thursday. South Central Texas should see highs in the middle 60s – very close to seasonal normals.

But Thursday evening another shot of cold air sweeps across Texas, bringing a chill back to the area on Friday. The front will be dry but some clouds will help keep temperatures in the middle and upper 50s.

By Saturday, an upper disturbance will cross the state. Moisture will be limited so expect clouds and a few sprinkles or light showers, especially Saturday afternoon and evening. Highs will be held in the middle 50s.

That disturbance exits to the east by Sunday morning. This will bring sunshine and warmer temperatures for Sunday with highs back in the middle 60s. Monday promises to be warmer still, with highs near 70. But Tuesday another polar blast arrives to give us cold temperatures for most of next week.

More details are in the Seven Day Forecast.
