The front that arrived Tuesday evening brought some rain to the San Antonio area and a few reports of sleet in the early morning hours. Surface air temperatures are too warm for any frozen precipitation to remain more than a few minutes and soil temperatures are still in the 50s, so no impact is expected.

Much colder air has followed the front and gusty northwest winds will add to the chill today. Skies will clear by midday but despite the sunshine, temperatures will rise only to the middle 50s with wind chills – ‘feels like’ temperatures – will stay in the 40s.

Winds diminish with sunset and very dry air along with clear skies will allow temperatures to fall into the middle 30s by Thursday morning. Some areas west of I-35 could see a light freeze.

Sunny skies are expected Thursday. With southerly winds, we’ll see highs reach the middle 60s.

Another dry cold front is expected Friday but overall, temperatures will be near normal and South Central Texas should remain dry. Saturday, a disturbance moves through with a chance of showers.

More details are in the Seven Day Forecast.
