After several cool days, the atmosphere over South Texas will begin to modify Wednesday. First, mid-level clouds will persist through the day helping to keep temperatures near 60 Wednesday afternoon with slightly warmer temperatures overnight. By Thursday morning, deeper moisture arrives and the air will begin to moisten from the top down.

This means Thursday looks to be cloudy and a little rainy with sprinkles in the morning and showers in the afternoon. Highs rise to the middle 60s.

By Friday, a strong cold front and potent upper level disturbance collide over Texas. There is a potential for strong and severe storms as well as some heavy rain. Right now, the primary concern is heavy rain with two to four inches area wide and higher isolated amounts. Of some concern is the potential for the surface front to stall across the Hill Country. This setup could produce isolated rain totals near six inches.

More details are in the Seven Day Forecast.
