Scattered showers and thunderstorms will continue throughout the weekend.  We have a disturbance tracking across northern areas of the state and a southerly breeze feeding moisture from the Gulf of Mexico into the system will produce rain at times this weekend.

It appears the heaviest rains will stay north of our area in North Texas but we may see a brief heavier downpour at times.

On Sunday, our attention turns to a potent cold front, which is now timed to arrive Sunday night with a blast of a chilly north wind.

One thing appears certain:  it's going to be notably colder to start next week with temperatures pretty much confined to 40s and 50s from Monday through Wednesday, and we're expecting on and off rains much of next week.

More details are in the Seven Day Forecast.
