SAN ANTONIO -- The Texas Cavaliers are getting ready this weekend for their 75th annual Fiesta River Parade on Monday.

  • Organization dedicated to raising money for children's charities
  • Gathered with public to pray for good weather
  • Lined the River Walk with 18,000 folding chairs

The men-only organization was founded in 1926 to preserve the bravery of the heroes who died at the Alamo.

They are also dedicated to raising money for children's charities in the San Antonio area.

This year the organization provided over $1.5 million worth of grants to support San Antonio's children.

On Saturday morning, they gathered with the public to pray for sunshine along the River Walk for the third year.

Texas Cavalier Michael Crocker, a pastor at St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, led the efforts to ward off inclement weather for parade day.

They also helped line the parade route with over 18,000 white folding chairs.

With the power of prayer, the Texas Cavaliers are hoping for a nice, sunny day on Monday.
