AUSTIN, Texas — Glen Powell doppelgängers, it’s your time to shine. Those who resemble the “Twisters” actor can participate in a look-alike contest in his home city of Austin on Sunday.
The gathering will take place at Auditorium Shores on Nov. 24 at 1 p.m.
“Do you look like Glen Powell? ARE you Glen Powell? Think you've got what it takes to look like ATX's favorite heartthrob? Get crowned as the newest Glen Powell of ATX,” the event description on Partiful reads.
No RSVP is needed to participate in or attend the event.
In a post on X on Wednesday, CapMetro shared routes that will take people directly to Auditorium Shores for the contest.
Whether the Austin native will show up to his own look-alike contest is not certain, but there’s a good chance it could happen, especially since Powell is now residing in his home city.
Powell was raised in Austin and moved back earlier this year after spending 15 years in Los Angeles to be closer to his family and complete his degree in Spanish and early American History from the University of Texas at Austin.
A true Longhorn, Powell shows up to Texas games donning a crisp cowboy hat and putting the horns up while posing for pictures with attendees. His embodiment of Texas culture is even apparent in his rescue dog, who is appropriately named Brisket.
New York City native Timothée Chalamet showed up to his own look-alike contest in Washington Square Park in October, which drew thousands and prompted a dispersal order from police.
The Chalamet contest seemed to be the catalyst for a string of other male celebrity look-alike contests that have taken place within the last month and have gone viral on social media.
Similar events have since taken place in the U.S. and across the pond, including a contest for Dev Patel look-alikes in San Francisco, Harry Styles in London, Jeremy Allen White in Chicago and Paul Mescal in Dublin.
Powell has recently starred in projects including “Anyone But You,” “Twisters,” and Richard Linklater’s “Hit Man.” The Texan heartthrob was also being considered for People’s Sexiest Man Alive this year, but the distinction ultimately went to John Krasinski.
