EVERMAN, Texas — A 6-year-old North Texas child’s disappearance triggered an Amber Alert this past weekend. While the Amber Alert has been lifted, Noel Rodriguez-Alvarez, of Everman, Texas, remains missing, and is listed as an endangered missing person.

On Sunday, Everman police revealed a new wrinkle in the case: the child’s family appears to have fled the country on a Turkish Airlines flight bound for Istanbul, Turkey, on March 23. That includes his mother, stepfather and siblings.

“Noel suffers from multiple disabilities including severe development disorder, social disorder, physical disabilities, chronic lung disease, which requires treatment and oxygen at times,” Everman Police Chief Craig Spencer said.

Spencer said that on March 20, his department received a complaint from an anonymous source stating that the child hadn't been seen since November 2022.

When officers conducted a welfare check at the home, Spencer said, the child’s mother claimed that he was living with his biological father in Mexico. However, Noel’s biological father was tracked down in Mexico. He said he did not have custody of the child and, in fact, had never met him because he had been deported.

Police said the child’s mother has an extensive criminal history and has been investigated previously.

Noel was not listed as a passenger on the Turkish Airlines flight.

“We are desperately seeking the public’s help,” Spencer said.
