AUSTIN, Texas – It’s springtime which also means it’s kitten time. Austin Pets Alive! (APA) says it is looking for fosters to help take of newborn kittens.

According to the agency, unaltered cats go into heat each spring and oftentimes end up having multiple litters of kittens.

If something happens to the mother cat after the kittens are born, the babies may be abandoned – babies that need special care and attention to survive.

APA operates a neonatal kitten nursery that can help save newborn kittens, but the organization says it still needs foster families so they can keep the nursery open as new kittens are brought in.
