AUSTIN, TEXAS -- Democratic presidential candidate Beto O'Rourke criticized the party's frontrunner as representing a return to the past.

The former El Paso Congressman made the comments about Joe Biden during an interview on MSNBC's "Morning Joe" Thursday. O'Rourke was asked about his differences with the former Vice President to which he launched into a litany of reasons why Biden is not the party's best hope to defeat President Trump. He said the country can do much better than a return to the past.

The other Texan in the race, Julian Castro, participated in a Fox News Town Hall, Thursday.

It was an opportunity for the former Housing and Urban Development Secretary and San Antonio Mayor to reach a new set of voters amid languishing poll numbers. Castro was asked about his plans to overhaul immigration and policing. Some Democratic candidates have refused to participate in town halls hosted by the network.
