SAN ANTONIO – Downtown San Antonio visitors, as of Wednesday, can use a new mobile app to pay for parking at on-street and off-street pay stations.

  • Previously used physical ticket
  • Entire transaction can be facilitated on smartphone
  • Users can monitor parking sessions

The SAPark app can be used for more than 2,500 parking spaces in downtown San Antonio. Previously, drivers would pay at a pay station and then display the ticket on their dashboards.

With SAPark, the entire transaction is facilitated on a smartphone and does not require a physical ticket.

To use SAPark, drivers can download the app and create an account with payment information and easily start a parking session. In addition to paying for parking, users can monitor their parking sessions, extend sessions remotely and view parking history and receipts.

“Parking is often the first experience people have when they come downtown, and we recognize our role in ensuring it is a positive experience,” Center City Development & Operations Director John Jacks said. “SAPark will provide residents and visitors an easy and innovative way to pay for downtown parking.”

Users can download the free SAPark app from the iTunes App Store and Google Play Store and manage their parking online at sapark.sanantonio.gov.
