SAN ANTONIO – At the Alamo Stadium, San Antonio Mayor Ron Nirenberg kicked off his re-election campaign on Saturday.

  • First elected in 2017
  • Spoke on success during current term
  • Will continue to invest in affordable housing and public transit

Nirenberg was first elected in 2017 after defeating incumbent mayor Ivy Taylor in a runoff election.

This time around Nirenberg spoke about the successes during his term and plans for the future.

Topics he is greatly invested in continuing are affordable housing and public transit.

“There’s gonna be a big push for transportation reform in this next term, obviously, we’re rolling out with ConnectSA and we are now embarking on the public input process to insure that we can deliver a comprehensive multi-modal transportation system,” Nirenberg said.

The mayoral election is set for Saturday, May 4.
