SAN ANTONIO – For the third year in a row, women in San Antonio gathered to voice their opinions and concerns at the Women’s March and Rally downtown Saturday morning.

  • March begins at San Fernando Cathedral
  • Local chapter emphasizes inclusiveness
  • Not directly connected with issues discussed through Washington, D.C. march

“I just think women’s voices need to be heard to make a more sane country,” Supporter Cindy Keunzi said.

The event was held at San Fernando Cathedral in the downtown area.

The chapter said that, although they are affiliated with Women’s March in Washington, they were not connected with the leadership, nor issues that have been recently associated within the leadership.

The march welcomeed all people, irrespective of their background, race, or religion.

“We are bringing together all these amazing women in our community to show unity,” Organizer Sofia Setulveda said.

The goal was to bring together women-identifying people to show solidarity with one another. They acknowledged that although people come from very different backgrounds, and have very diverse struggles, it is important to recognize they share an identity, as women/femme, and celebrate as one.

From Washington D.C. to San Antonio, thousands of people came together for their own Women’s March and Rallies.

Women voiced their protest against President Donald Trump’s agenda, protested for progressive causes and also rallied to honor women who are no longer around.
