AUSTIN, Texas -- Check your freezer, a popular brand of frozen chicken nuggets has been recalled.

  • Perdue Foods announced the recall
  • Involves 68,000 pounds of nuggets
  • Food may be contaminated with wood

Perdue Foods announced the nationwide recall on Friday for more than 68,000 pounds of chicken nuggets. Officials with the company say the food may be contaminated with wood pieces.

Perdue says the recall is for the Simply Smart Organics brand Gluten Free chicken breast nuggets.

There have been no reports of illnesses so far. The recalled chicken nuggets have an October 25, 2019 expiration date.

The package has a UPC product bar code of 72745-80656. The package also lists an Establishment number of "P-33944."
