SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio Police Department were investigating a car theft and kidnapping on Friday night, which unfolded into a kidnapping.

SAPD and FBI coninute a search for 8-month-old King Jay Davila. He was wearing a blue onesie and has a scratch over his left eye.
On Saturday evening, SAPD Chief William McManus released a statement:
"The FBI is now assisting in the investigation into the disappearance of 8-month-old King Jay Davila. As always, wwe are extremely gratefyl for their willingness to asisst our department when needed. It's even more appreciated that these agents are volunteering their time and expertise to help us find King, despite them not being paid during the current governement shutdown. Together, we will work tireless to find baby King."
According to Chief McManus, around 7 p.m. on Friday, the father of the child, Christopher Davila, drove up to an Exxon gas station in a white Dodge Dart. He left the car running and the door unlocked. A woman passed him while he was walking into the store. That woman got into his vehicle and drove off. She was last seen wearing a light colored hoodie and tan pants.
The car was found nearby at Rodriguez Park, but the child was not in it.
Police took child’s father into custody. McManus said the father’s story is not adding up. Police believe it may have been a set up and the father may have known the woman who took the child and vehicle.
The father was charged for child endangerment.
