SAN ANTONIO –Walmart, Sam’s Club and the Walmart Foundation announced on Wednesday that they donated a total of $6,958,949 in cash and in-kind contributions to nonprofit organizations in the San Antonio area during 2018.

This amount is part of the $133 million donated to nonprofits throughout Texas.

The donations support San Antonio programs focused on hunger relief, healthy eating, workforce development and disaster preparedness.

The three organizations are dedicated to the fight against hunger and are determined to help families who need access to nutritious food.

In San Antonio, Walmart’s contributions include:

  • 3.7 million pounds of food to local food banks and hunger relief organizations during 2018, which is the equivalent of 3 million meals.
  • Walmart associates performed more than 400 hours of volunteer service in their communities throughout 2018
